YOU SAY LIGHT - I THINK SHADOW
An exhibition celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the award-winning book
What is light? In an attempt to answer this deceptively simple question, Sandra Praun and Aleksandra Stratimirovic invited 109 prominent and inspiring professionals from the fields of art, architecture, design, literature, film, theater, and photography to share their thoughts on the phenomenon. Each text, interpreted in its own individual graphic form, stands by itself, but the order opens up another dimension where the texts start to engage in a dialogue with each other. Together they ebb and flow between light and darkness.
You Say Light – I Think Shadow, published by Art and Theory Publishing, was one of the projects supported by L-RO (Lighting-Related Organizations), the official partner of UNESCO’s International Year of Light and Light- Based Technologies 2015. The book has won the Red Dot Communication Design Award, the Joseph Binder Silver Award, and the German Design Award.

TRASH AND BEAUTY
BELOW THE SURFACE
During the Island of Light Festival from September 5 to September 14,
the Diving Club Kleven is exhibiting photos of the beauty beneath the surface, alongside trash we collect from the bottom, at the center located at the tip of Klevudden.

There are endless amounts. We always swim past something on every dive. It doesn’t stop until we remember to think about not throwing it in.
Just leave bubbles behind you.

TJÖRNKAYAK CLUB
AT ISLAND OF LIGHT
jörn Kayak Club is participating again in this year's Island of Light with light-decorated kayaks that glide silently among the glowing installations.

It has become a cherished tradition, where the club, along with the local paddling group Sotenäspaddlarna, offers a unique experience – their own
light show on the water.
The audience can not only enjoy the festival's artworks on land but also a lively and sparkling element out at sea. A reminder of community, creativity, and the love for both nature and light.
